The PAZON Altair ignition system is the hassle-free solution to your ignition worries.

Fits these classic motorcycles:

BSA 350/500 Unit Single Cylinder Motorcycles with 6 Volt electrics (positive or negative ground) and  Lucas 18D1 type distributor, including: BSA B31/B33 (1958/59).
Note: the 18D1 is not really a distributor (although it looks a bit like one).
It is essentially a points housing with a cap.

May also suit other British Unit Single Cylinder motorcycles, with Lucas 18D1 distributor and 6 volt electrics.

Completely replaces the original points, condenser & mechanical advance.

• Wasted spark system, for simplicity of timing.
• Static timing led on trigger board, for quick & easy ignition timing.
• Works with the original coil/plug (h.t.) lead. The plug cap supplied should be fitted to the plug lead. If required, a new coil and lead are listed under the product 'Options'.
  

Once fitted, the result is improved performance, excellent starting, smoother running and low maintenance.

Important notes:
Before fitting this ignition system, it is essential that the distributor is in good condition.
Specifically, the shaft/bearings should not show signs of excessive wear (obvious signs of side-play or end-float). Side-play in particular may result in uneven/wandering ignition timing. This ignition system will not overcome serious mechanical wear in the distributor.
